Kaksar (काकसर) is a Village in Drass tahsil in Kargil District of Jammu & Kashmir State, India.
Location
It is located 21 KM towards west from District head quarters Kargil. 32 KM from Drass. 143 KM from State capital Srinagar, Jammu. Kaksar Pin code is 194102 and postal head office is Drass . Kaksar is surrounded by Drass Block towards west , Shargole Block towards East , Taisuru Block towards South , Shakar-Chiktan Block towards East. Srinagar, Anantnag, Bandipore, Sopore are the near by Cities to Kaksar.[1]

- Satyapal Badsra (Naik) was from village Gehli in Narnaul tehsil in Mahendergarh district of Haryana. He became martyr on 24 August 1998 in Kaksar sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

- Narendra Singh Rathi (Sepoy) (20.06.1968 - 02.06.1999) - From Itawa Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, He became Martyr of Kargil war in Kaksar sector on 02 June 1999, Unit-04 Jat Regiment.

- Vijay Singh Ghanghas (Havaldar) (11.12.1959 - 12.06.1999) is a Martyr of Kargil War from Haryana. He was from village Puthar, tahsil Israna, in Panipat district in Haryana. He became became martyr on 12.06.1999 in Kaksar-Kargil area of Jammu and Kashmir. during Operation Vijay in Kargil War. He was in Unit-04 Jat Regiment.

- Naresh Singh Sinsinwar is a Martyr of Kargil War from Uttar Pradesh. He belonged to village Chhoti Ballabh in Iglas tehsil of Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh. He was in Unit-04 Jat Regiment of Indian Army. He along with Captain Saurabh Kalia of the Indian Army laid down his life in Kaksar sector during the Kargil War while being held as a prisoner of war by the Pakistani security forces.

- Banwari Lal Bagaria (15.07.1977 - 15.05.1999) is a Martyr of Kargil War from Rajasthan. He became martyr on on 15 May 1999 in Kaksar sector during Operation Vijay in Kargil War. He belonged to village Sigdola Chhota in Laxmangarh tehsil of Sikar district in Rajasthan. Unit-04 Jat Regiment.

- Bhikha Ram Moondh (16.1.1977-15.5.1999) is a Martyr of Kargil War from Rajasthan. He belonged to village Patasar in Pachpadra tehsil of Barmer district in Rajasthan. He along with Captain Saurabh Kalia of the Indian Army laid down his life during the Kargil War while being held as a prisoner of war by the Pakistani security forces in Kaksar sector.

- Moola Ram Bidiyasar is a Martyr of Kargil War from Rajasthan. He belonged to village Kathoti in Jayal tehsil of Nagaur district in Rajasthan. He was born at village Ratau in Nagaur district but his family moved to Kathoti. He was in Unit-04 Jat Regiment of Indian Army. He died on 15 May 1999, in Kargil war fighting with bravery in war with Pakistan Army. His father's name is Raghunat Ram and mother's name is Rameshwari. He was in Unit-04 Jat Regiment of Indian Army. He along with Captain Saurabh Kalia of the Indian Army laid dpwn his life during the Kargil War while being held as a prisoner of war by the Pakistani security forces in Kaksar sector.
