Nodal

Nodal (नोदल) is a Jat gotra found in Rajasthan. Nodal Gotra was integral part of the Solanki ruling Federation. Some historians believe that they are same as Nandal, but Nandal has originated from Tomars.

History

Nodal Gotra people were integral part of the Solankis when they gained political ascendancy. The Badwa of Nodal Gotra is Niranjan Singh son of Laduram, Village:Dadia, Tah: Kishangarh, Ajmer, Rajasthan, Mob:9636244833. According to the Badwa (bard) their Nakh is Solanki. Nodal ancestors migrated from Ahilwara (Gujarat) to Marwar area in Rajasthan. Their ancestor Nand Ram or Nand Rai founded village Nodalas or Nodalwas (Nondpura, Deoli, Tonk ?) in in V.S. 1192 (1135 AD).

• Ramaji Nodal moved from Nodalwas and founded village Satwara (सटवाड़ा) (Deoli,Tonk ?) or Sotwara (सोटवाड़ा) (Malpura Tonk ?) in V.S. 1248 (1191 AD)

• Bad Ram Nodal moved from Satwara and founded village Badu (Parbatsar, Nagaur) in V.S. 1257 (1200 AD)

• Pala Ram Nodal moved from Badu and founded village Palri (Parbatsar, Nagaur) in V.S. 1352 (1295 AD)

• Kanwar Kalu Ram Nodal son of Amaraji Nodal moved from Palri and founded village Ralawatan ( Kishangarh, Ajmer) in V.S. 1407 (1350 AD). Kanwar Kaluram was accompanied with Budaswana Dadhich Brahman and Bugalia Balai people when the village Ralawata was founded.

Migration of Jats

By the end of fifth and the beginning of the sixth century, Saran's and Jat's southward migration, second in line, took place and they reached Kota in Rajasthan, probably via Bikaner regions. From Kota they migrated further east and established their rule at Malwa under the rule of Salichandra, son of Vira Chandra. Salichandra erected a minster (mindra) on banks of the river Taveli in Malwa. Probably after their defeat by Sultan Mahmud in 1027 AD, and later hard pressed by the Ghaznavi Turkish Commander, the Jats of Sind again migrated to Rajasthan and settled themselves in Bundi regions. The second inscription found at Bundi probably dates from circa samvat 1191 (1135 AD) possibly refers to the Jats as opponents of the Parmara rulers of Rajasthan.

History of Nandal Gotra

According Jat Historian Ram Swarup Joon - One person of the family of last Raja Anand Pal Tomar left Delhi after its conquest by the Mohammadans and settled at village Bohar (near Rohtak). His name was NandanTomar and his descendents were called Nandal Vanshi and later on their Gotra became Nandal.

दलीपसिंह अहलावत लिखते हैं - जाट्स दी ऐनशन्ट रूलर्ज पृ० 256 पर, बी० एस० दहिया ने लिखा है कि “यह कहना उचित है कि मौर्य शासन से पहले जो नन्द जाट थे वे आज नांदल/नांदेर जाट कहलाते हैं।” आगे वही लेखक पृ० 305 पर लिखते हैं कि “नांदल जाटों ने भारतवर्ष में जो साम्राज्य स्थापित किया वह नन्द मगध साम्राज्य कहलाया।”

नांदल गोत्र के जाटों का निवास आज भी भारतवर्ष में है। इस गोत्र के जाटों के गांव निम्नलिखित हैं -

1. जिला रोहतक में गांव बोहर तथा इसी के निकट गढ़ी है जिसे बोहर गढ़ी कहते हैं। इस गोत्र के अन्य सभी गांवों का निकास इसी बोहर गांव से है।

2. जिला रोहतक में नन्दल गांव आधा 3. रिठाल गांव का एक ठौला 4. महराना गांव आधा, 5. जटवाड़ा में 50 घर 6. चीमनी में 50 घर हैं।

7. जिला सोनीपत में ज्यासीपुर गांव आधा, डाहर जिला करनाल में भी कुछ गांव हैं जैसे - 8. जाटिल 9. मंढाणा कलां 10. मंढाणा खुर्द आदि। जिला बुलन्दशहर तहसील खुर्जा (उ० प्र०) में इस गोत्र के 12 गांव पास-पास मिलकर बसे हुए हैं। जिनके नाम - भुन्ना, गोहनी, रकराना, शाहपुर, धमपुर, छिरोली, रामगढ़ी, नौरगा, हबीपुर, फिरोजपुर, भूतगढी, जलोखरी। यू० पी० में बोहर गांव से जाकर बसने के कारण वहां ये नांदल जाट, बोहरिये कहलाते हैं।

बोहर गांव का अति प्रसिद्ध नांदल जाट -

द्वितीय महायुद्ध के समय मैंने दिल्ली के लाल किले में एक बड़ा पत्थर रखा हुआ देखा था। उस पर यह लेख खुदा हुआ था कि “बोहर गांव में एक कुआं खोदते समय यह भारी पत्थर उस कुएँ से अकेले एक बोहर गांव के जाट ने बाहिर निकाला था।” उस पर उस जाट का नाम भी था परन्तु मुझे खेद है कि मैं उस पहलवान व्यक्ति का नाम भूल गया हूं।

अनुमान है कि उस पत्थर का वजन लगभग 10 मन था। स्वतन्त्रता प्राप्ति के बाद वह पत्थर वहां से हटा दिया गया। मैंन हाल में ही लाल किले में जाकर उस पत्थर को खोजने का प्रयत्न किया किन्तु नहीं मिला। (लेखक)

Nandaka in Mahabharata

Shalya Parva, Mahabharata/Book IX Chapter 44 mentions names of combatants armed with diverse weapons and clad in diverse kinds of robes and ornaments, All of them came to the ceremony for investing Kartikeya with the status of generalissimo. It mentions in verse 63 Nandaka along with Hans as under:

हंसजः पङ्कदिग्धाङ्गः समुद्रॊन्माथनश च ह

रणॊत्कटः परहासश च शवेतशीर्षश च नन्दकः (Mahabharata: IX. 44. 63)
