Akodia (आकोदिया) Akodiya (आकोदिया) gotra Jats live in Mandsaur, Sheopur districts in Madhya Pradesh. They live in Tonk, Jaipur district in Rajasthan. Akodiya is a Gotra of the Anjana Jats in Gujarat.

Origin

History

Akodia gotra Jats were in the army of Maharaja Suraj Mal. After the death of Maharaja Jawahar Singh sardar Charandas Akodia came to Sheopur and settled here. He originally belonged to Ballabhgarh. He constructed a grand Laxman temple in Hasalpur, which is a unique example of architecture. He established his Jagir here. There are 8-9 villages of Akodia Jats at present out of these Talavra village is main.^[1] Akodia Jats are influential in the area. There are 8-9 villages of Akodia clan in Sheopur tahsil. Talabada is major village of Akodia Jats. ^[2]

Hira Lal Patel (Akodia): स्व. हीरालाल पटेल, गोत्र आकोदिया, गांव पहेला, तहसील कराहल, जिला श्योपुर, मध्य प्रदेश के निवासी थे। श्री हीरालाल पटेल एक सम्पन्न जमींदार थे। आपने आजादी आन्दोलन में सक्रिय योगदान किया। इस परिवार ने 300 बीघा जमीन विनोवा भावे के भूदान-आंदोलन में पहेला गाँव में दान में दी थी। गांव पहेला में इनकी छत्री बनी हुई है।
