Pliny[5] mentions Arabia.... We then find the Clari, the shore of Mamæum, on which there are gold mines, the region of Canauna, the nations of the Apitami and the Casani, the island of Devade, the fountain of Coralis, the Carphati, the islands of Calaëu and Amnamethus, and the nation of the Darræ.

History

The lineage of Kasanias is traditionally traced from the god Krishna. In Sanskrit the Krishna Vamsha were called Karshney or Karshniya which became Kasaniya. The Krishna Vamsha people in China were known as Kushan or Yuezhi. They are believed to be inhabitants of a place named Kasgar.[6]

According to Thakur Deshraj , the Jats in the Sivalik Hills and the lower reaches of Lake Manasarowar left these areas after the Mahabharata war and migrated to Uttarakuru (in Central Asia) or (an apparently mythical place, sometimes identified with the Kuru Kingdom). Some of them settled in Punjab in the area known as Yadu ki Dung, some settled in Kashmir, and the rest migrated as far as Siberia. [7]

Village Kasli was established by Jats of Kasniya Gotra. This famous gotra is also called Krishniya (belonging to Lord Shri Krishna). Some other villages inhabiting this gotra are- Krishniyon Ka Bass (Jhunjhunun) & Akwa of Sikar district and some more villages.

Evidence compiled by Nainsi on the clans of the Jats and their original homes and migration there from to different places in Merta in Nagaur are of Immense importance. It is one of the prominent immigrant clans who came to Merta.
