Sant Ganga Das (Munder)

Mundel (मुंडेल)[1] Mandel (मंडेल) Munder (मुंडेर) Mander (मंडेर)[2] Mundher (मुंढेर)[3] Mudel (मुडेल) is Gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.

Origin

They are said to be descendants of Nagavanshi mahapurusha named Mandalika (मांडलिक). [4] They are also considered to be originated from place Mandovar (मंडोवर). [5]

They are said to be originated from place named Mandaur (मंडौर) where Bastapala (बस्तपाल) was the ruler. [6]

History

The ancestors of Ganga Das had migrated from place called Mandla (मांडला) in Amritsar district of Punjab prior to 15 generations.

Sarvapal Khap is a Khap of 22 villages. This is a grand organization spread from Faridabad, Ballabhgarh to Chhata, Kosi in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. It has 1000 village. It includes Deende Pal of Kosi Kalan, Gathona Khap of Bathain Kalan, Beniwal Khap of Kamar, Sorot Pal of Hodal, Munder Pal of Dhatteer- Allika, Tewatia Pal of Janauli, Rawat Pal of Paigaon. [7]

सर्वपाल खाप

सर्व पाल खाप में 22 गाँव हैं. यह फरीदाबाद, बल्लभगढ़ से लेकर मथुरा जिले के छाता, कोसी तक फैला एक विशाल संगठन है. इसमें करीब 1000 गाँव हैं. इस खाप में कोसी की डींडे पाल, बठैन की गठौना पाल, कामर की बेनीवाल पाल, होडल की सौरोत पाल, धत्तीर- अल्लिका की मुंडेर पाल, जनौली की तेवतिया पाल, पैगांव की रावत पाल आदि सम्मिलित हैं. यह पाल दहेज़ निवारण में सबसे आगे है.[8]

Bad Münder (also: Bad Münder am Deister) is a town in the Hamelin-Pyrmont district, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the south side the Deister hills, approximatively 15 km northeast of Hamelin.[10]

Notable Persons

  • Ganga Das (1823-1913) - Ganga Das was a revered saint of udasi sect and Hindi poet from Muradabad district in Uttar Pradesh. He was born in 1823 in village Rasulpur Bahlolpur of Muradabad district in the family of Hindu Jat of Munder Gotra. His childhood name was Gangabaksh but became Gangadas after consecration in udasi sect under Baba Vishnudas Udasin at Sedepur district Bulandshahr at the age of 12. He died on bhadrapada krishnashtami in year 1913. His contribution to hindi poetry has been considered unparallel.
  • Shyam Vir Singh - Born in village Rasulpur, he joined the army as an officer. After his stint in the army, he joined the central services where he worked in various ministries including the home ministry. He was posted to Samoa as well as England. He continues to help and give back to society at every opportunity he gets.

  • Munna Lal Mundel (Naik) - (3181886) Jat Regiment, of village Mundwa recipient of Shaurya Chakra Award. April 12, 2005 Chaitra 22, 1927, New Delhi. President, Shri A P J Abdul Kalam conferred two Kirti Chakras and twenty two Shaurya Chakras at a solemn ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhawan, here today on those Armed Forces, para-military, police force personnel and civilians who displayed conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion. Munna Lal Mundel was one of them to receive Shaurya Chakra Award.
