Pahal (पहल)[1][2] (पहाल)[3] [4] Paahal (पाहल)[5] Pahil (पहिल) Pahl (पहल) Pahlava (पह्लव) is gotra of Jats. They were supporters of Johiya Confederacy. [6]

Origin

They are said to be the descendants of Nagavanshi ancestor Pala (पाल). [7]

History

Pahlava (पह्लव) was a north-western Mahabharata tribe, defeated by Nakula (II.29.15); who joined the Kaurava forces (VI.20.13). [8] The Mahabharata Tribe - Pahlava (पह्लव) may be identified with Jat Gotra - Pahlawat (पहलावत)/Pahal (पहल).
